Girly quilt

Just a little snapshot of my latest finished project.  I really should have been packing boxes for our move that's scheduled in two weeks.  But my baby girl needed a quilt of her own, and the sewing machine kept calling out my name.  This sewing project actually began about 8 years ago, when I first started tinkering with my mom's old Singer.  Saw the fabric on sale and felt inspired to mix and match up some squares.  Needless to say, it was only 3/4 finished when I packed up and moved to Wales, leaving the quilt stuffed in a cupboard and neglected. Fast forward to 8 years later...Daisy's arrives and proves to be just the right inspiration to get the quilt finished up.  She's looking forward to lots of tummy time madness in the next few months.

My biased opinion says that quilts don't have to be made of intricate geometrical cuts to be beautiful.  Just basic large squares can lend a lovely simple look, which, in this case, draws more attention to the beautiful baby who gets to revel in some quilting comfort.
