Our recent camping trip is still a hot topic of conversation. One of Jack's favorite parts was driving through the Tour Thru Tree. Here's what I'm talking about.
That's a Redwood, and they are whopping big enough to drive right through! So, yesterday we decided to reenact that magical moment. We started by piecing together our very own redwood tree right on the kitchen counter. I cut a paper towel tube and used a few pieces of construction paper to resemble the evergreen leaves. Jack embellished them with a brush and some paint.
After the paint dried, we used a stapler and some packaging tape to piece our Redwood together on the kiddos' table. We even grabbed some markers to create a road and some bits of the forest.
Here are the Hot Wheels touring together through the redwood.
This activity was a hit for most of the afternoon.
